(Eagan, Minn.) Oct. 22, 2013 – The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named Eagan-based GuideK12 as a finalist in the Education Technology category for the 2013 Tekne Awards. Winners will be named during the Nov. 6 ceremony held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The MHTA Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 to promote and support excellence in Science, math and technology in education. Along with its technology based company members, MHTA looks to promote Technology in education, positioning MN as a top tech state to watch. As the leading provider of web-based, Geovisual Analytic tools for the education market, GuideK12 enables school districts to solve critical educational challenges by visualizing data on a map. Having the ability to link student and household information, a district can save time and money while increasing transparency for everything from boundary planning, to program resource allocation to student performance analysis. Displaying data in an interactive map allows administrators to run “what if” scenarios to drive decisions that are more efficient, and accurate. This break-through technology is helping districts wade through and visualize data in a more meaningful way. Schools are swimming with data, much of it siloed, making it difficult to integrate and take action
“GuideK12 is thrilled to be named as a finalist for this year’s Tekne Awards. Earning recognition in our home state for the work we do to support districts nationwide is truly an honor,” said GuideK12 CEO and Minnesota native, Chuck Amos. “GuideK12 translates data into actionable information so administrators can save time and money with more effective and efficient decisions. In states with school choice, like Minnesota, GuideK12 is a powerful tool for districts to analyze school choice patterns and trends across districts and determine the impact for the first time. We are proud to be a Minnesota-based company that is empowering administrators to make data-driven decisions at the district level at the same time increasing transparency and trust within their communities.”
Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota’s best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management. A full list of finalists is available online at http://www.tekneawards.org.visit
