Flagship Product, myON reader, captures Top Honors as Best e-Learning Solution
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.– May 3, 2013 – Results are in for the third annual EdTech Digest Awards Recognition Program honoring tools, trendsetters and leaders in the education and technology sector. The distinguished awards program recognizes outstanding solutions—and the best and brightest minds—in education and technology.
Capstone Digital, a leading provider of personalized literacy solutions to the K12 marketplace is pleased to announce it has taken home two prestigious awards. Capstone Digital President, Todd Brekhus, was honored as a “visionary” with the 2013 Leadership Award, while its flagship product, myON reader, was chosen as best “e-Learning Solution” in the Cool Tool Award. The program is comprised of the Cool Tool, Trendsetter and Leadership Awards categories, and more than 200 finalists were named in over 40 sub-categories.
Capstone Digital President, Todd Brekhus said, “We are very proud to have myON reader chosen as the best e-Learning Solution. In just three short years, myON reader has created a unique reading environment that makes reading fun for students, a critical component in their individual academic success.” He continues, “It is also with great pleasure that I accept the 2013 Leadership “”, which is a testament to the work everyone at Capstone Digital is doing to promote literacy in our schools.”
A distinguished panel of industry influencers and veterans conducted this year’s evaluation proceedings. “Our judges are giants among us, having influenced millions through their efforts at improving, advancing and modernizing education,” said Victor Rivero, who oversees the program as Editor in Chief of EdTech Digest. “They are highly-regarded leaders from a variety of experiences, but what they all have in common is a keen eye for what works in education and technology.”
Cool Tool awards recognize new, emerging and established technology solutions for education; the Trendsetter awards include notable people or products shaping the space, and the EdTech Leadership awards recognize outstanding forward-thinking contributions to learning and technology.
“We’re excited to honor these finalists who have all earned it, they deserve special recognition for their efforts and are highly commended for their work in education,” said Rivero. “The 2013 awards recognize both people and solutions in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere.”
